Inter-Consult, was founded in 23 June 1978, is one of the first multi-disciplinary consultancy company in Tanzania. Inter-Consult, over the years, has grown rapidly using mostly internally generated experts and variable software, laying a solid foundation for the company to successfully provide consultancy services for over 500 projects undertaken whilst developing a solid brand and market leadership.
Using amassed experience and solid foundation, Inter-Consult will continuously proceed to be a market leader in the provision of various consultancy services while maintaining its multi-disciplinary approach using a multitude of nurtured talent and appropriate technology.

The Structures and Bridges Department for the past 40 years has been undertaking structural design projects with key focus on design optimization to ensure our designs are cost-effective, sustainability, environmentally friendly with high durability while maintaining high safety standards. Our team of Engineers has the right experience and training and is well equipped with state of the art software with consistent use of sound engineering principles as well as current standards.
The department has now emerged as one of the leading provider of professional engineering consultancy services in the design of civil structures, including high rise buildings, industrial buildings and other civil structural systems. We are experienced in all forms of bridge design, including large span bridges, rail bridges, pedestrian bridges and other civil structures for road projects including culverts and retaining walls. We also have massive experience in undertaking:
- Condition survey and rehabilitation planning of existing structures
- Design of preventive systems such as flood prevention systems
- Specialized designs such as piling design to meet client-specific requirements
We have been performing construction supervision works focusing on construction quality and process controls, site safety, environmental suitability and project management, using our team of professional engineers with excellent training, extensive amount of experience and technology in structural works. The overall aim is to ensure that the construction is executed according to design and to the required specification.

Architecture and Town planning department is one of the key departments within Inter-Consult setup that provides consultancy services on architectural and allied areas with established reputation for delivering buildings designed with skill and appropriate innovation. Our schemes arise from close client collaboration and sophisticated responses to contexts and functions.
We design architecture that is based on strong ideas following our intricate philosophy built on creativity and imagination. Our designs are propelled by ideas that will produce buildings of outstanding architectural clarity, character and usefulness. We produce architecture whose details articulate the fundamental design idea to add something distinctive to the quality of places and lives. Our design process is imaginative, with character and highly communicative and we strive to create architecture that expresses the key qualities of excellence and inspiration with client involvement a major facet of the design process.
Upon obtaining project briefs from clients, we examine the site to discover its limitations and possibilities, and then consider these features alongside the environmental, geographic, cultural, and behavioural context before offering design concepts to our clients. Once a selection is made, we begin the research, experimentation, and creation. In the course of developing any scheme the department coordinates closely with other disciplines e.g. structural engineers, services engineers, quantity surveyors, etc to ensure that the client requirements are fully accommodated in order to optimize function, quality and cost. Upon receipt of client’s approval of the submitted sketches, the department prepares working drawings incorporating all the client’s needs at the same time liaise with other departments for incorporating their specialist inputs in the project.
During the construction stage the department oversees construction supervision through to delivery of the project.

Quantity Surveying Department is one of key departments within Inter-Consult. For the past 40 years, the department has been offering consultancy services in buildings and civil engineering projects. Our team of Quantity Surveyors has the right experience and training and is well equipped with state of the art software with consistent use of sound measurement principles offering services covering the full spectrum of consultancy, project delivery and post-project operations from the inception of a project through to completion and beyond throughout a project life-cycle.
The department has offered consultancy services in many projects countrywide ranging in value from a small to large scale, throughout all levels of supply chain from developers, main contractors, sub-contractors, design teams and end users. Our technical staff can advise Client’s on the best strategy to achieve their objectives during any stage of their projects life cycle; from an initial client brief stage, design development, construction and ultimately the handover process.
